Piedmont is the region of the eastern United States which lies between the coastal plain, from which these are divided per fall line, and a eastern mountain chain, a Appalachian Mountains. A breadth of a Piedmont varies, existence quite narrow or even vanishing above the Delaware River, but about 300 miles (475 kilometer) wide in the state of North Carolina.
A superficial relief of the Piedmont is characterized by comparatively moo, rolling hills using heights above sea level between 200 feet (50 m) & 800 feet to Yard feet (250 m to 300 m). Its geology is complex, by owning many rock formations of different materials & ages intermingled with of these a second. Au fond a Piedmont is the roots of an ancient coastal mountain chain that is now worn down to bas relief.
